When do I get my stuff?
I’m allowing time for people to make up their minds about their orders until the middle of August. With that final info I can master the final film credits, which allows two things to happen:
(1) I can upload the video to Backerkit. The digital version of the film will then be available for distribution to all backers who pledged to a tier that includes a download or a Blu-ray. A download code for the main feature and the other bonus videos will be sent to backers at that time. Tentative delivery date is August 21st.
(2) I can start Blu-ray pre-production. I send the master to the Blu-ray authoring people to create the replication master, which takes about two weeks. That master goes to the replication company in London where the disc replication which takes about 4 weeks. Those discs get shipped to the fulfillment center where individual orders are sorted and shipped to backers.
Sorting is contingent on all the reward merchandise having arrived at the fulfilment warehouse, so pinpointing a specific start date is impossible to guarantee, but given the manufacture of the blu-ray is the most complicated part of the process it is likely that all the other elements (shirts, posters, postcards) will also be ready to go by the time the Blu-ray arrives at the warehouse.
Estimated commencement of shipping is mid-September. Shipping times from warehouse to the individual backer is dependent on the carrier and outside our control.

Why were shipping charges not included in the Kickstarter reward tier prices?
The world is a chaotic, unpredictable place, and a difficult place in which to make plans. It seemed prudent to have shipping costs calculated as close to the actual time of shipping as possible, given the mechanics of a staggered production workflow in the wake of a crowdfunding campaign.
Using Backerkit in conjunction with the fulfillment company SUN FULFILMENT I’m able to bring you the most cost-effective shipping pricing, calculated based on weight, and specifically targeted to many of the major destinations in Europe, as well as USA, Canada, Australia & NZ and elsewhere.
As an independent filmmaker and retailer, I believe I’m presenting the best possible deal for my backers with the resources I have at my disposal.

How are the shipping charges calculated?
How are the shipping charges calculated?
U.K. Shipping is a flat fee.
International shipping charges are calculated by weight.
The weight categories are: 0g – 250g, 251g – 500g & 501g and up .
The fees for specific weight categories vary from territory to territory. Weight category is assigned at checkout based on the cumulative weight of the contents of your order, and the applicable shipping fee for that weight category in your territory is applied at that time.

How do I get my downloads?
Digital downloads are hosted on e-junkie.com .The download URL will be included along with your download code and will be sent to the same email address that your Kickstarter Backer Survey was sent to. The digital downloads will become available at a future date, tentatively scheduled for August 21st. Any changes to this date will be communicated through the HEART OF NEON Kickstarter Backer Updates, so please follow those posts to keep informed.

How will you present my name in the credits of HEART OF NEON? Also, what's up with the Google Form?
If you backed a reward tier that includes a thank you credit, there is a question in the Backer Survey that specifically asks you how you want your name to appear in the credits.*
** This does not appear to be the case for some backers, instead there is a link to a Google form. Many backers do not want to interact with Google. In this case, please put your name as you with is to appear in the film in an email with the subject line CREDIT NAME TEXT, and somewhere in the body of the email indicate the email address you associate with your Kickstarter account to I can properly verify I have your information in the backer report. This is the specific text we will use to add your name to the SPECIAL THANKS section of the end credits of the film (and the opening credits, if you pledged one of the Executive Producer credits). Submissions close on the 18th of August The credit list will be locked and rendered into the final credits at that time so the film can be mastered and released to backers. Unlike video games, we cannot offer a patch to update a Blu-ray. The credits will not be altered after that point. Please be sure to have your name submitted by that date.

My pledge includes a pixel portrait by dokk. How does that work?
Please send the photographic image you would like your portrait based upon in a digital format to the HEART OF NEON email address – [email protected]. Each digital portrait takes about 5 days, but this is also a busy time, preparing the film for final output and fulfilling backers’ orders, so work will not start on these portraits until orders begin shipping. I thank you for your patience and understanding with this process.

I backed at the producer level. When do I see my credit appear on IMDB?
Once the credits are compiled and rendered, the Co-Producer and Executive Producer credits will be submitted to IMDB. There will be a period of time while these new credits are evaluated by IMDB, and, barring unforeseen issues, the credits should appear 1-7 days after submission. To be clear, while I personally have never had issues with IMDB in this regard, HEART OF NEON has no control over IMDB submission policies, and as such can only guarantee a good faith submission of your credit into the system. In the unlikely event that any issues arise during the process we will make our best efforts to correct them and keep you up-to-date with our progress.

What's the difference "HEART OF NEON Blu-Ray" in pledge vs "HEART OF NEON Collector's Edition Blu-Ray" add-on?
They are the same thing. When the campaign started I was offering the basic disc, but through a string of successful stretch goals the whole package became what it is now. Everybody wins.

What's the difference "HEART OF NEON Remix Album CD" + "HEART OF NEON Remix Album Digital" in pledge, vs "HEART OF NEON Official Soundtrack Album CD" add-on?
The remix album is a collection of tracks from musicians who have worked with Jeff Minter in the past, including Gribbles, Junosix, Anosou and Peter Duggal, who remixed music from past games and from the film HEART OF NEON. None of the music appears anywhere else.
The soundtrack album contains nearly 74 mins of music composed by Tony Longworth that features in the film itself.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

How does BackerKit work?

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
This survey collects information solely for reward delivery and project updates. Personal data will not be used for other purposes without explicit consent.
Our commitment to privacy ensures that information remains confidential and is not sold to third parties. Necessary details may be shared with fulfillment partners solely for reward shipping, who are also bound by strict privacy obligations.
Sensitive personal information, such as Social Security numbers or payment details, will not be requested through this survey. Please refrain from providing this type of information.
